Facials and Rejuvenation Treatments

Facial-rejuvenation is a treatment to correct a variety of skin conditions that include birthmarks, unwanted hair on the face, unsightly small veins and other blemishes. Facial skin imperfections and signs of photo-ageing can also be reversed with this treatment. Photo-rejuvenation uses special laser light, Intense Pulsed Light, to stimulate collagen formation by focusing energy on the deeper layer of the skin without damaging the skin’s surface. Thus this treatment removes fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots and broken veins. The result is youthful and radiant skin.

What is the actual procedure?

A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated. The smooth glass surface of the handpiece of the IPL is gently applied on the skin and pulses of light are released over a period of 20 minutes. A slight sting may be felt, like the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. An anesthetic may be used though it is not always required. Photo-rejuvenation takes a short time and hence it is often referred to as a lunch hour procedure. Excellent results are achieved after treatment in a series of 4-6 sessions.

How many treatments of Photo-rejuvenation are recommended to have the desired effect?

Since results differ for each person, the number of treatments required will be varied. Most patients see the desired result in 2-4 treatments. The treatments are spaced 2-3 weeks apart for the first few sessions and then 8-12 weeks apart later for a long-term treatment.
